Jorge Charry (Founder)

Jorge is a retired military veteran native Spanish speaker who served as a linguist and criminal intelligence analyst. for most of his career he worked side by side with other law enforcement professionals at different task forces as member of their investigative teams. He has dedicated over 20 of those years to develop Spanish language and cultural interpretation training for law enforcement personnel. He also spends his time bringing cultural awareness, educational opportunities and language instruction to the L.E. community at large. 

Jorge has a bachelor's degree. in Foreign Languages with an emphasis in Spanish and linguistics, and a master's degree in Human Resources and Adult Education.  In addition, he is a valued instructor with Rocky Mountain HIDTA (High-Intensity Drug Trafficking Area) and other state and national training programs. He, with his associate Yvette, have successfully designed and taught multi-level Spanish Language courses for numerous law enforcement agencies throughout the United States. Hundreds of law enforcement and first responder personnel have attended their courses.

Jorge has studied Spanish slang, making it his area of expertise. He has been a member of the Colorado Drug Investigators Association since its inception. Volunteering as a mentor, he helps other veterans transitioning from the military to implement their business ideas.  He has supported the community by mentoring at-risk youth in resiliency and drug prevention programs like the Red Ribbon and DARE campaigns.  Jorge has also worked extensively with the Latino Hispanic community in the areas of leadership, conflict resolution, and employment opportunity.

Jorge is also the co-author of “Yo Si Puedo!” (Yes I Can!), Spanish training book for law enforcement personnel.

Yvette Rice (Executive Officer)

Yvette has over 20 years of exemplary service as a law enforcement officer with the Utah County Sheriff's Office. During her career, Yvette has had the opportunity of working and supervising in the Corrections, Patrol, Investigations, Dispatch, Wild Land Fire and Administrative Services Divisions. She has been a field training officer in the Patrol and Corrections Divisions, and has instructed during various in-house corrections academies.

Yvette has a great passion and love for the Spanish language and central and South American cultures. Through personal experiences, she has seen how valuable it is for law enforcement officers to be able to communicate with the Spanish-speaking community. Since 2003, Yvette has been teaching occupational Spanish with an emphasis in the law enforcement area.  She has been teaching other law enforcement officers Spanish and cultural traits as an instructor with Rocky Mountain HIDTA.

Yvette holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish (cum laude) and a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology (cum laude) from the University of Utah. She is a proud graduate of the prestigious FBI National Academy; session #228
